Yo escucho Español! (Advanced)

Project Leader: Tony Alcarria
Assistant Professor, Spanish

Yo escucho Español!" literally means "I hear Spanish!" and that's exactly what happens in this evolving project. iPods are loaded with language tutorials, Spanish music and literature and some are even podcast for students and the university community. The advanced class adds publications and TV/Radio newscasts where students hear "real" Spanish spoken/written by native speakers. This requires work on speed and comprehension, prerequisites to fluency.

Spring 2006 Alcarria is working with 10 upper level students doing much the same things, but enjoying delving a little deeper into the iPod's capabilities. The notes function + music + images = a fun and innovative way to escucho (and learn) Español!
