Historical Methods
& Interpretations

Project Leader: Deborah Vess
Professor, History & Georgraphy

Graduate students in this course prepare podcasts on various areas of historical research including biography, local history, oral history, genealogy, women's history, use of the internet for research, and other topics. The instructor also distributes mini-lectures enhanced with visual images as podcasts and plans are to distribute other classroom resources (i.e. bibliographies and library assignments) through the notes function of the iPod.

The podcasts are linked to a course blog site; students post discussion materials in written form and they can then access the podcasts from the site. The materials produced by these students will be made available to students in subsequent semesters in the
People Who Changed the World course as well as to future graduate students in the methods course.
